Jahangir Ahmed, MD

Dr. Jay Ahmed is a Nephrologist at Utah Kidney Clinic with special interest in taking care of patients with Chronic kidney disease, Diabetes, Hypertension & End stage renal disease with passion for home dialysis so if needed the patients can get dialysis at the comfort of their homes. He is recognized as one of the leading Nephrologists providing home dialysis care. 

 Dr. Jay completed his Internal Medicine training in New York City and Nephrology fellowship at Tufts medical Centre in Boston. He has years of experience in treating patients with kidney disease and has also worked in South Florida before moving to Utah. Dr. Jay moved to Utah not only for the beautiful mountains but more so for the culture and people here. 

 His aim has always been to create a sense of partnership with his patients and to make medical decisions not for them but with them. Dr. Jay loves to remain abreast of new pharmaceutical and technological advancements by reading up on latest research within his area of expertise. 

In his free time he loves to explore Utah outdoors and experience nature with his wife, kids and Gucci (the Jay family dog). 

He is excited to be part of the Utah Kidney Clinic where he will also be actively pursuing research for further improving kidney disease care. He believes that his work is not about him but rather it’s about the lives of every patient he takes care of and he is looking forward to bringing an exceptional level of care for his community.
